After weeks of government-imposed lockdowns, people around the world are now starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel with the gradual loosening of restrictions on movement and travel. The collective sigh of relief is palpable across every city and nation, but the question on everyone’s mind is the same, “When will it be safe to travel again?”.

One resort in Thailand has a solution. Thanyapura Sports and Health Resort in Phuket, long recognised as Asia’s premier sports training center for athletes from around the world, believes it has everything that couples, families, groups and teams are looking for post-lockdown – a safe place to enjoy nature, breathe fresh air, eat clean food and get active again.

Having now safely reopened, Thanyapura has launched a series of promotions under its new “Social Distancing” campaign, including a book now, stay later option where guests can plan for stays from 1 July onwards with free cancellation, full flexibility and 30 per cent off regular rates. The resort has also completed a top to bottom deep clean of rooms and common facilities and is implementing guidelines to ensure the health of safety of guests and staff. Round-trip transfers from Phuket International Airport are also provided in clean and safe vehicles.

“The lesson that Covid taught us as a society is that nothing is more important than our health,” said Phillip Hardenberg, Thanyapura’s President and CEO. “We need to see this as a wake-up call and begin investing in this for ourselves.”

“Thanyapura strikes a perfect balance for those who want a safe destination that offers space and freedom to move around. The sheer size of the resort and the open-air sports and dining facilities are what set us apart,” continued Mr Hardenberg. “Thanyapura is literally what the doctor ordered.”

Thanyapura has everything needed post-lockdown. Situated on 45 hectares surrounded by a national forest, guests have plenty of space to get active at the 114-room self-contained resort. The property features Olympic level sports facilities, on-site restaurants, and a lifestyle medicine clinic supported by a multi-national team of resident experts in fitness, nutrition and wellness.

The resort continues to host its online fitness and cooking classes live from Facebook. Private cooking classes, personal training and personalised consultations are also available for those looking to kick-start a healthy lifestyle from the comfort of their homes.
