The Shilla Hotels & Resorts Welcomes 2018

The Shilla Hotels & Resorts is celebrating the New Year with enticing accommodation and dining offers across its many properties.

The Shilla Seoul

The luxury property invites guests to discover new dishes at two of its popular restaurants.

Ariake, The Shilla Seoul’s Japanese restaurant, celebrates the season with a variety of dishes featuring the rare globefish. A delicacy in Korea, the globefish requires meticulous preparation and is paired with selected ingredients to highlight its fresh flavours. From sashimi to hot pot, the globefish dishes will be included in Ariake’s menu until February 28.

Ring in the New Year like a royal with Pastry Boutique’s exclusive version of the classic Galette des Rois. Known as the King’s Cake, this delightful French dessert is designed to encourage interaction between friends and family. During the baking process, the traditional fève is replaced with a small nut to symbolise good luck. When the puff pastry is divided between the group, the person who receives the nut-filled slice is named King or Queen of the day and receives good fortune for the New Year.

Galette des Rois is available at Pastry Boutique until January 31, 2018.

The Shilla Jeju

The Shilla Jeju, a leading destination resort on the idyllic Jeju Island, welcomes guests this winter with unique experiences that capture the spirit of Korean culture.

Located on the scenic Jungmun beach, The Shilla Jeju is an ideal getaway for families, friends, and couples.

Through The Shilla Jeju’s innovative GAO program, the hotel’s well-informed specialists can arrange outdoor activities for guests to appreciate the surrounding natural wonders.

Must-do activities offered in the GAO program include:

Snowflake Trekking: Guests can enjoy magnificent views of the iconic Mount Hallasan – the highest mountain in South Korea – where the winter snowcaps create a picture-perfect backdrop.

Tea Stone Tea Ceremony: Those looking for a cultural excursion can opt for this tea ceremony with an O’sulloc tea sommelier. Launched in 1979, O’sulloc is one of the few traditional Korean teahouses and renowned for their green tea.

Strawberry or Orange Picking: Guests can explore the outdoors as they pick fresh juicy strawberries or oranges at a nearby eco-friendly farm, and discover more about these two signature fruits of Jeju.

Yacht experience: Guests can enjoy spectacular coastal views of Jeju Island at dusk aboard a luxury yacht. Visitors are also encouraged to fish during the trip and enjoy freshly-caught sashimi on the boat.

Shilla Stay

Offering a “smarter stay,” Shilla Stay properties provide the facilities and services designed for the modern traveller. Each Shilla Stay hotel was designed by Italian architect Piero Lissoni, who is celebrated for his minimalist style.

With eleven properties dotted throughout South Korea, Shilla Stay is introducing a “Stay More, Save More” package. Ideal for travellers planning an extended stay, when guests book three nights or more in a standard room, they enjoy free Wi-Fi, access to the fitness centre and receive one exclusive Shilla Stay tumbler.

“Stay More, Save More” is available until June 30, 2018. Prices start at KRW 90,750++ per night, based on two persons sharing a room.
