Spread the love

The St. Regis San Francisco, the city’s quintessential destination for timeless elegance, is pleased to present a special Cherry Blossom-inspired Art of Tea experience, a new take on the beloved and decadent afternoon tea tradition experienced in the lobby lounge, in conjunction with this year’s Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival celebrating the vibrant colors of Japanese culture.

The exclusive offering is available to book for the entire month of April.

“The St. Regis San Francisco is thrilled to offer a festive version of our traditional Art of Tea experience in celebration of a beloved cultural tradition,” said Chris Saputo, Director of Restaurants at The St. Regis San Francisco.  “By partaking in this unique experience, we hope guests will have lasting memories for years to come.”

The St. Regis San Francisco offers a special menu in honor of the holiday classic to celebrate the season, where guests can enjoy a Cherry Blossom-themed menu featuring a selection of teas along with sweet and savory treats paying homage to one of the West Coast’s leading celebrations of Japanese traditions.  Offerings include traditionally Eastern treats with a Western influence such as Shokupan ToastMatcha Tea Swiss RollKorokkeMint Tea Infused Macaron, and more.  The Art of Tea experience starts at $69 per person.

The Cherry Blossom-themed menu can additionally be accompanied by a half-bottle of Laurent Perrier Champagne as an exclusive Art of Tea for Two experience, starting at $180 for two guests.  Alternatively, The Art of Bubbles offers the traditional Art of Tea experience paired with a glass of Schramsberg sparkling wine, starting at $80 per person.  Guests can opt to enhance the Art of Bubbles experience with their favorite bottle of champagne or sparkling wine, including a choice of Veuve Clicquot ($150), Laurent Perrier ($135), and Schramsberg ($115).

In conjunction with the Cherry Blossom-inspired Art of Tea, the St. Regis San Francisco will also offer a celebratory “East Meets West” cocktail menu throughout the month of April, created in partnership with Suntory Distillery, where fine eastern spirits meet classic western cocktails. Craft cocktails will include the Haku Vodka Martini with Haku vodka, sake yuzu and ginger dry vermouth; the Toki Old Fashioned with Suntory toki whisky, ginger bitters, green tea yuzu syrup and candied ginger; and the Roku Gin and Tonic with Roku gin, green tea yuzu syrup, edible orchid, black pepper and yuzu peel ($18/per cocktail).

Created in England as a small meal between lunch and a late dinner by Anna, the Duchess of Bedford, afternoon tea was later adopted by bon vivant Caroline Astor, New York’s Grand Dame and social matriarch for the city’s most elite residents, to entertain her closest friends at the iconic St. Regis New York.  The St. Regis San Francisco continues to value this tradition by offering a distinctly modern and innovative take on afternoon tea.

The Cherry Blossom edition of the Art of Tea is available from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the lobby lounge by reservation only throughout the month of April.  For reservations or inquiries, please call 866-716-8116 or visit www.stregissanfrancisco.com.
