Tourism Garden is delighted to have been appointed as the tourism representative for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. Taking over from Mr. Katsuji Tochino, who has stepped down from the role after eleven valued years of service.

Japan’s thriving and vibrant capital Tokyo, the most visited city in Japan by Australian travelers. A metropolis where old meets new, a city rich in culture and diversity, in the spot light as host to the upcoming Rugby World Cup in September 2019 and the 2020 Olympics and Paralympics.

Tourism Garden Principal and former long-term Tokyo resident Alison Roberts-Brown said: “I will never forget the sense of awe and wonder Tokyo inspired in me on my first visit as a high school student. It changed the course of my life. Returning to live there I stayed for over 17 years working in the travel industry. Tokyo was the most amazing place to call home. Being appointed as the Sydney tourism representative is the most incredible honour. These are such exciting times for Tokyo, I am delighted to be able to work with the media and the travel industry to share city icons through to hidden treasures and the core values that make Tokyo the incredible place it is.

If you haven’t been to Tokyo yet, cease the moment, there has never been a better time to go.  I urge you to go and experience your very own Tokyo, it will surprise and delight and I hope inspire you to go back again and again.”

As the official tourism representatives for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Tourism Garden will work closely with media and travel industry assisting with provision and distribution of information, support tools and assistance whilst sharing the core brand values of Tokyo.
