A range of new tourism products and experiences have been developed in the Northern Territory’s Top End following the announcement that renowned international artist, Bruce Munro, will open his world first city-wide exhibition, Bruce Munro: Tropical Light, in Darwin on 1 November.

The products, designed specifically around the exhibition, include everything from five-star dining at acclaimed Darwin restaurant, Char, to Tropical Nights at Crocosaurus Cove – one of Darwin’s most popular tourist attractions.

Bruce Munro: Tropical Light, a free to the public, outdoor art exhibition in Darwin, opens on 1 November 2019 until 30 April 2020 – the entire duration of the tropical summer season.

CHAR RESTAURANT: A NIGHT OF INDULGENCE

To celebrate Bruce Munro: Tropical Light, Char Restaurant have created an indulgent dining experience for those who enjoy the finer things in life.

Guests will be collected in a luxury limousine and escorted to East Point Reserve, where they’ll be treated to French champagne and canapes as the sun sets over the Arafura Sea.

Following sunset, guests will return to Char for a two-course dinner paired with matched wines, before an exclusive tour of Bruce Munro: Tropical Light between main course and dessert.

Set in the Heritage listed Admiralty House, built in 1937, Char is one of Darwin’s finest dining venues.

TROPICAL LIGHT ‘UNPLUGGED’ TWILIGHT CRUISE

Multi-award winning Top End operator, Sea Darwin, have announced they’ll launch a 45-minute twilight sunset cruise for the duration of the tropical summer season.

Departing Stokes Hill Wharf, the cruise will showcase the magic of a Darwin sunset during tropical summer when the sky is stretched with colour-catching storm clouds, multi-hued light and a peppering of electrical light shows.

And then, as twilight awakens, they’ll witness the Bruce Munro: Tropical Light exhibition come to life, as Sea Darwin swaps nature’s light for the conventional variety.

On conclusion, guests will disembark in perfect proximity to walk through the remainder of the 2.5km Bruce Munro: Tropical Light exhibition.

TROPICAL NIGHTS AT CROCOSAURUS COVE

Crocosaurus Cove, located in the heart of Darwin City, will open a unique evening experience to celebrate the Bruce Munro: Tropical Light exhibition between November 2019 and April 2020 – Tropical Nights.

Featuring entertainment by The Burning Circus – a group of local circus performers – a ticket to Tropical Nights includes:

  • Full day entry ticket to Crocosaurus Cove
  • Special reptile handling
  • Tropical summer themed reptile presentations
  • Light performers and entertainment by The Burning Circus
  • Kids’ face painting

Tropical Nights at Crocosaurus Cove will open from 5.00pm – 6.30pm every Wednesday and Friday during the Top End’s tropical summer season.

As darkness falls, three magical Bruce Munro: Tropical Light illuminated sculptures will light up in front of Wharf One Food & Wine, providing the perfect backdrop for the premium restaurant’s new signature feast dining experience.

Featuring a tropical mocktail on arrival, followed by a mouth-watering two or three course menu showcasing Wharf One’s most-loved signature dishes, this dining experience is the perfect prelude before embarking on the 2.5km Bruce Munro: Tropical Light exhibition trail.

TERRITORY GRAZING BOARD

Coco Republic, the newest addition to Darwin’s popular Waterfront Precinct, will offer visitors to the Bruce Munro: Tropical Light exhibition a grazing board, featuring a bountiful selection of in-season Territory produce.
