The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has announced the launch of its winter tourism campaign, Treat Yourself, bringing exclusive offers on leisure experiences to UAE residents and visitors. The campaign, which is running until 30th December, includes special deals on hotel stays, F&B and dining experiences, theme parks and entertainment, and retail across the emirate.

Treat Yourself’s launch includes hotels across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, with more offers set to be revealed in the coming weeks. Participating establishments are offering discounts of up to 50% on hotel stays, dining, and spa experiences, as well as packages that include offers on cultural and entertainment destinations in the emirate. The campaign’s promotions are accessible via the Visit Abu Dhabi website, and visitors can use the promo code TYAD on participating hotel websites to avail their offers.

As part of Treat Yourself, Retail Abu Dhabi, DCT Abu Dhabi’s retail arm, will soon launch its winter season shopping campaign at top malls across the emirate. After the success of Unbox Amazing, the summer retail programme which generated over two billion AED in retail sales, the Retail Abu Dhabi winter campaign will seek to build on this success to further invigorate the retail sector in the emirate.

“The ‘Treat Yourself’ campaign is an invitation from DCT Abu Dhabi to the wider UAE community to enjoy the unforgettable experiences available in Abu Dhabi during the winter holiday season,” said HE Ali Hassan Al Shaiba, Executive Director of Tourism and Marketing at DCT Abu Dhabi. “Following the slowdown in tourism activity caused by COVID-19, we have already begun the process of reviving the tourism sector through domestic campaigns such as ‘Unbox Amazing’ and ‘Rediscover Abu Dhabi’. ‘Treat Yourself’ is the next step in enhancing sector performance by creating offers that will encourage residents to further engage in a diverse range of leisure activities, thus supporting the continued economic recovery and growth of the emirate as we head into the new year.”

Earlier this week, DCT Abu Dhabi announced its third quarter results for 2020 during an Industry Development Committee Meeting. The meeting revealed that the tourism sector in the emirate is set for a rebound, with hotels across Abu Dhabi seeing a 95% increase in guests compared to the second quarter of the year, as well as a 46% increase in revenues. The retail sector also showed positive signs of recovery, as mall footfall increased by 83% during the same period.

Treat Yourself is the latest in a series of initiatives implemented by DCT Abu Dhabi to drive consumer trust and promote sector recovery. In July, DCT Abu Dhabi Launched the ‘Go Safe’ certification programme, a comprehensive platform that aims to standardise health and hygiene levels across all consumer touchpoints within the tourism sector in order to guarantee the safety of visitors and residents in the emirate.
