Sydney’s newest must-visit restaurant is opening in Chippendale’s Central Park precinct this August, under the expert guidance of Executive Chef Adriano Avino.

The restaurant in the heart of downtown Sydney, aptly named Central Quarter, is part of the new Four Points by Sheraton Sydney, Central Park hotel, and will offer a modern menu of seasonal local ingredients presented in an authentic and creative style.

“The Central Quarter food and beverage offering has been carefully designed to support our local farmers and community, combining premium quality meat and seafood with a relaxed dining atmosphere and attentive service. I’ve been inspired by fresh seasonal ingredients, which has really allowed me to get creative with the menu,” says Executive Chef Adriano Avino.

Adriano brings 19 years’ experience to the helm of Central Quarter, having most recently worked with celebrity chef Peter Kuruvita at the award-winning Flying Fish restaurant at Sheraton Tokoriki Island, Fiji. His credentials span the global hotel industry, with previous experience at the The Westin Fiji and Crown Perth.

The chef also credits Chippendale’s renowned brewing heritage as a source of inspiration for the modern-Australian menu:

“Chippendale is well known for its brewing history, going as far back as the late 1800’s. The Central Quarter menu has been designed to incorporate this rich tradition, featuring beer marinades and unique beer sauces to complement food and beer pairings,” says Adriano.

Adriano’s use of seasonal and locally-sourced produce follows the theme of sustainability that the Central Park development is recognised for:

“As well as supporting the community, using local ingredients helps lower our carbon footprint. Local ingredients are what I call the ‘Km0’, as there is minimal transportation involved, which is more environmentally friendly”, he explains.

Central Quarter’s focal point is a 3D art installation that extends across the restaurant’s internal back wall. Local Australian sculptor and painter, Barbara Licha, was commissioned to create the artwork depicting Sydney’s iconic skyline. The restaurant’s interior takes design cues from the surrounding cityscape – incorporating concrete greys, sleek lines and a light installation reminiscent of night city lights.

The 148 seat restaurant opens up onto Broadway, with both indoor and alfresco dining available. Central Quarter will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner from Thursday 9th August.
