Global luxury travel network Virtuoso celebrated its highest-performing travel agency members, whose achievements earned them invitations to this year’s Virtuoso Chairman’s Event in one of the world’s truly intriguing cities – Bangkok.
The event rewards Virtuoso’s most dedicated members, with more than 120 travel agency leaders and their guests from over 80 agencies attending. This global group gathered from as far away as Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Dominican Republic, Germany, Hong Kong, Mexico, Sweden, United Kingdom and the United States. In addition to honoring network superstars, the Chairman’s Event acquaints these highest-producing agencies with a world-class destination, highlighting the benefits of a visit enhanced by Virtuoso’s connections, so they can inspire their upscale clientele to enjoy it in a similar manner.

This insider’s view of luxury Bangkok was possible thanks to Virtuoso’s strong partnerships, a hallmark of the network. Host hotels The Peninsula Bangkok and Mandarin Oriental Bangkok were the site of meetings, receptions and meals. In fact, attendees were among the very first guests of the newly renovated Mandarin Oriental, fresh from the most extensive restoration in its 143-year history. The country’s National Museum, a former palace that now houses exquisite art and historic treasures, was the venue for the closing reception and dinner, sponsored by the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
A highlight of the Chairman’s Event is the Design Your Day activities, which allow attendees to choose immersive experiences according to their personal interests. Agency owners spent two days exploring Bangkok with a focus on exclusive, authentic experiences. Curated by local Virtuoso partners Abercrombie & Kent Southeast Asia and Luxe by Exo, the activities spanned a range of interests. Options included viewing Bangkok street art in an emerging neighborhood, learning Muay Thai boxing techniques from a champion in the sport, and discovering the characters and dance of traditional puppet theatre.
