Travel Associates’ host successful Industry Partner Showcase

Travel Associates recently hosted over 200 of its travel advisers and 48 Industry Partners at an Industry Partner Showcase at Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast.

The insightful weekend opened on Friday 7th September with a Welcome by General Manager Sandra Cavallin, followed by a full afternoon of presentations from Industry Partners on their latest offerings, unique product selections and emerging travel destinations. The day ended with a Lagoon Party, live entertainment and a seafood feast, sponsored by Qantas – a great opportunity for travel advisers and Industry Partners to meet and mingle.

Saturday continued with three product breakout sessions and a brand expert Q&A panel featuring the following Industry Partners; Uniworld Boutique River Cruises, Managing Director, Fiona Dalton, Silversea Cruises Sales Director, Craig Owens and Abercrombie & Kent Australia, Head of Agency Sales, Ann-Marie Chapman.

The panel discussed Local Community Engagement, a big focus for Travel Associates brand. The session explored ways for the brand to further connect with their local communities through hosting events and information sessions in conjunction with industry partners. Panelists agreed that this was an effective way to provide clients with insights into the hottest travel destinations and experiences.

Saturday night wrapped up with a Gala “Moulin Rouge” dinner event featuring CanCan Dancers and live music. There were prize giveaways galore across the weekend, kindly sponsored by the industry partners.

Adelaide’s Perchalla & Turner Manager, Becky Kent-Perchalla said she felt this year’s calibre of suppliers was particularly high and the time to meet and chat with these suppliers is always a great investment.

“Listening to Fiona, AMC and Craig on stage was informative and entertaining. It also showcased their different personalities and how we can all be successful in our own right if we find our own groove in the wider world of travel,” Becky said.

“Specifically, that session emphasised what I often tell my team – you will only get out of your own business, what you’re prepared to put into it. As our office is out of the standard ‘east coast’ circuit, it is always appreciated to be able to have some time to chat to those suppliers that are can’t make it down to see us for various reasons. Another reason why I believe weekends like these are so valuable,” Becky added.

Silversea Cruises Sales Director, Craig Owens commented that it was “an amazing conference that was engaging, fun, professional and most of all, a real win for the Travel Associates brand.”

The Unique Tourism Collection Managing Director, Jonica Paramor also sung praise of the event, adding “it was an excellent event and once again I really enjoyed not only the chance to present to all the new and familiar faces for COMO Hotels and Resorts but to continue to support and network with all your great advisers and the whole Travel Associates team and my industry colleagues too.”
