Trip.com Group’s “LIVE for Trip” campaign, a livestream series deployed over the past seven months to meet the challenges presented by COVID19 has generated more than USD 360 million in GMV and received more than 150 million global views.The “LIVE for Trip” campaign is an extension of the company’s “Travel On” initiative campaign and is designed to bolster the recovery of the global travel industry. Through working with local travel industry partners and KOLs, Trip.com LIVE inspires customers to plan their next trip and consider travelling again through presenting them with incredible discounts, tailored products and amazing giveaways.

Championing the local industry while remaining responsive to regional trends In support of Singapore’s domestic travel industry, the Trip.com team has put together a total of 12 livestream episodes to date, offering various deals and discounts on more than 30 local hotels, with some hotel packages sold at more than 60% off regular prices. The team has also worked regionally to create added value for customers, keeping up to date with developments in key markets and identifying hotels in popular destinations such as Japan, Taiwan and Thailand to showcase during the livestream sessions.

Most recently, following the announcement of the planned Singapore-Hong Kong travel bubble, the 29 October Singapore Trip.com LIVE livestream was dedicated to showcasing Hong Kong and Singaporean hotels with the Halloween-themed tagline: “#TripFlashSale – Come in for a Spooktacular deal!”. According to Trip.com Group data, on 15 October, search volumes in Singapore for flights grew by 56.4%, within two hours of the announcement of the agreement to open a SG-HK travel bubble, followed by a 40% increase in local hotel searches.

Following the travel bubble announcement in Hong Kong, Trip.com LIVE promoted a wide range of discounts on Singaporean hotels, provided useful information for Hong Kong customers planning on visiting Singapore, and also promoted local Hong Kong staycation hotel deals.
