United Arab Emirates: Troon International has announced the launch of the first Troon International Trophy, to be held at Abu Dhabi and Saadiyat Beach Golf Clubs from October 22-24.

Open exclusively to members of any Troon facility worldwide, the Troon International Abu Dhabi Trophy will offer participants the chance to take on two diverse golf courses, both of which are no strangers to big occasions.

The National Course at Abu Dhabi Golf Club has become an emblem for golf in the Middle East. Together with its the iconic Falcon clubhouse, it’s provided the perfect backdrop for many dramatic battles as host venue for the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship presented by EGA.

Likewise, the Gary Player-designed beachfront masterpiece, Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, the first of its kind to be built in the Middle East, has become the popular host venue to one of the Ladies European Tour’s marquee events, the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Open. Its sweeping fairways and stunning ocean views will present a thrilling challenge for all competitors.

Aimed at showcasing the quality of Troon’s International network, the event, spread over three days, will offer competitors the chance to use the practice facilities at both clubs for the duration of the tournament, as well as a practice round prior to 36 holes of competition, with 18 holes to be played over each course.

Players will also benefit from staying at the Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort and Spa, providing extra close proximity to the Abu Dhabi Golf Club’s National Course and an even shorter walk to the range each morning.

“We are extremely excited to welcome members from Troon-managed facilities, along with a select few of our 15,000 associates from all over the world, to two of our flagship properties in the Middle East,” said Mark Chapleski, President of Troon International, an Executive Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.

“I know that everyone who enters will receive a very warm welcome, and thoroughly enjoy the superior course conditions of two venues celebrated within the world of professional golf,” added Chapleski.

Players participating in the event will also be able to visit some of the best sites Abu Dhabi has to offer, including Louvre Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and Yas Island attractions.
