Royal Plaza on Scotts sends down 3000 portions, equivalent to 365kg, of chocolate pudding to show appreciation for 3000 Nightingales of Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) and National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) for Nurses’ Day celebration.
The tasty treats are freshly-made by chefs of Carousel, the hotel’s award-winning restaurant. 365kg is significant of the round-the-clock commitment that nurses have been putting in for the community every day of the year. Each portion comes with a handwritten appreciation note from the hearts of Royal Plaza on Scotts’ employees.
The month-long celebration takes place from 1 August for the nurses at TTSH-NCID as they have been working especially hard to help Singapore recover from the pandemic. On 3 and 5 August, TTSH organising committee for Nurses’ Day celebration has also planned for celebrations on digital platforms such as Zoom. Chocolate pudding, which is one of Carousel’s most popular desserts, is being delivered over two days on 3 and 5 August, at two timings in the morning and late afternoon. These strategic timings ensure that the treats reach all nurses of TTSH-NCID, as they are running on three rotating shifts. The dessert will be enjoyed together by the nurses during their virtual gatherings in the new normal.
Mr Patrick Fiat, General Manager and Chief Experience Officer (CEO) of Royal Plaza on Scotts said, “This is an unprecedented time for all of us, be it in the hospitality or healthcare industry. The sweet treats are our way of saying thank you to the nurses for their hard work and dedication during this difficult period and we hope that these will bring some joy to them.”
National Healthcare Group (NHG) Chief Nurse, Mr Yong Keng Kwang, expressed his appreciation on behalf of all nurses, “Nurses draw considerable strength from the support and encouragement of members of public! TTSH-NCID nurses sincerely thank Royal Plaza on Scotts for your acknowledgement of our conviction… Your chocolate puddings are simply delicious and energising!”
