The Star Sydney is launching this year’s hottest summer party series, CHUUKA & CHILL, taking place every Saturday and Sunday from 2pm at The Star Sydney’s first off-property signature dining restaurant, CHUUKA. The Jones Bay Wharf venue will bring live DJs, stunning summer bites and drinks as part of The Star’s exciting ‘This Summer Live’ campaign, a season full of live acts and festive celebrations. With unrivalled views of Sydney Harbour, away from the hustle and bustle of other harbourside destinations, CHUUKA & CHILL is set to be the go-to for weekend sessions in Sydney.

Located at the end of Jones Bay Wharf, CHUUKA & CHILL will breathe new life into the local Pyrmont community over the weekends and reinvigorate the afternoon summer session for Sydneysiders. Having established itself as a dining destination, CHUUKA & CHILL signifies a new phase for The Star Sydney’s iconic venue as it cements itself as the place to be and be seen. With uninterrupted views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and city skyline, CHUUKA represents an undiscovered gem in Sydney’s entertainment scene, with the location never-before home to such a vibrant event.

With the sounds of summer pumping through the venue, CHUUKA & CHILL is the perfect Harbour-side spot for a post-lunch spritz or relaxing sundowner shared with friends to celebrate the summer season. Partygoers will have their pick from the summer inspired cocktail list created just for CHUUKA & CHILL. Playing on the Asian heritage of CHUUKA, special cocktails include a Japanese Gin Spritz and a Coconut Rum Highball for guests to get a real taste of what CHUUKA is all about.

To complement the eclectic cocktail list, guests will be able to tuck into CHUUKA’s bar menu with highlight dishes including CHUUKA Fried Chicken with Sweet and Sour Yuzu Sauce, Kakuni Pork Bao Bun Slider with Baby Gem and Yuzu Relish and Fish Tartare with Plum Dressing, Macadamia, Tomato with Potato Rice Cracker.

Chase Kojima, Co-Executive Chef at CHUUKA, said: “With the best views of Sydney and a relaxed yet upbeat vibe, the creation of CHUUKA & CHILL was a never a question. As the new kid on the block of the food and drink scene, we expect these vibrant weekend sessions will draw a new crowd to this side of town.

Kojima continued: “CHUUKA & CHILL has been created to celebrate the best of our city bringing the finest of our food and drink offering at this stunning Harbour-side location. Summer is all about getting out, feeling the vibe and making the most of the long hot days – where better place to enjoy a drink post lunch, or get the party started?”

Damian Quayle, Chief Operating Officer at The Star Sydney, commented: “We’re excited to be bringing this new weekend offering to one of Sydney’s best locations. CHUUKA is the perfect spot to spend an afternoon and watch the sun go down so we’re hoping to create a laid-back atmosphere with feel good music that will have guests coming back week after week.”

Having opened in June this year, CHUUKA has quickly become recognised for its outstanding food and iconic location which stand it out from the crowd. Headed up by the award-winning chefs, Chase Kojima and Victor Liong, CHUUKA brings together the rich heritage of Japanese and Chinese cuisines; making it a unique offering in Sydney.
