Today, Huawei Consumer Business Group announced Petal Maps had been updated with crucial features, including route planning for walks, bike rides, and public transport, in addition to the existing driving route planner. In this newly enhanced Petal Maps version, the user will be able to view multiple routes at a glance and the duration and detailed information for each option, to save themselves untold time and hassle.

Huawei’s Petal Maps app debuted at the global launch for the HUAWEI Mate 40 series smartphones in 2020. As a mapping service that harnesses many pioneering technologies, notably Super Global Navigation Satellite System, Petal Maps provides location searches, turn-by-turn navigation, and real-time traffic conditions in more than 140 countries/regions. It also supports Air Gestures, an interactive paradigm that gives services touch-free functionality, also a signature feature on the HUAWEI Mate 40 series.

Departure schedules, stop-by-stop routes, and the estimated arrival time of buses, light rail, ferries, and trains are online in Petal Maps in certain regions. Real-time public transport information is already available in 16 countries/regions. Users in these areas will be able to get around with newfound ease and flair – staying in sync and ahead of schedule, by stepping on and off at just the right times.

Apart from walking, driving, and public transit routes, Petal Maps also provides cycling route planning in 11 countries: Germany, Denmark, Spain, Finland, France, the UK, Mexico, Norway, New Zealand, Poland, and Sweden. This means even when straying off the beaten path, the user will be able to find their way back with ease, on their bike. These functions will be available for more countries and regions in the near future, including Australia.

To enjoy all these benefits and more, update Petal Maps to the latest version, or download the app from AppGallery.
