Vietjet has been ranked 22nd in the top 50 airlines worldwide by Airfinance Journal, one of the leading magazines in aviation finance. This is the first time the airline has made the coveted list.

According to the scorecard, Vietjet’s total revenue was USD995 million in the last 12 months, the average age of its fleet was 3.2 years. The profit before tax, interest, depreciation, rent costs to revenue ratio was 31.4%. Fixed charge cover was two times; liquidity as 30.4% of revenue.

The ranking comes as Vietjet announced it would be operating three routes to Japan. The route announcement was made at the Vietnam-Japan Business Matching and Seminar in Ho Chi Minh City, an event celebrating the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Vietjet Vice President, Nguyen Thi Thuy Binh said, “we look forward to the people and cultures of Vietnam and Japan becoming closer with our wide network of routes. With a flight time of five fours, it is expected that passenger traffic between the two countries will double in the next two years”.
