Viking today launched three new Central and South American itineraries – the 22-day Cuba, Panama & the Pacific, the 18-day South America & the Chilean Fjordsand the 22-day Southern Atlantic Crossing. The unveiling of these cruises gives guests the opportunity to explore a new range of exciting hotspots across Central and South America.

Cuba, Panama & the Pacific explores Cuba’s and Central America’s colonial and stunning natural beauty. Guests will experience buzzing Miami, Santiago de Cuba and Cienfuegos for a taste of its intoxicating culture. After the breathtaking wilderness of Costa Rica, a visit to an indigenous tribe in Panama and colonial Guatemala, the voyage wraps up with Cabo San Lucas and the cultural side of Los Angeles.

For guests who want to travel to the end of the world and back, South America & the Chilean Fjords promises to impress. After soaking in the eclectic vibe of Buenos Aires, passengers visit Port Stanley, home to more than one million penguins, before reaching scenic Ushuaia, the city at the “End of the World”. Sailing through the Strait of Magellan, passing rugged mountain peaks and blue-tinted icebergs, guests will get a taste of vibrant Santiago.

The Southern Atlantic Crossing visits the eclectic cities of Buenos Aires and Montevideo. After the exuberance of Rio de Janeiro and relaxing coastal Recife, guests cross the Atlantic to the vibrant West African city of Dakar and prosperous Casablanca. Sailing the shores of Africa to the Mediterranean, guests will explore the Andalusian charm of Granada and the fabled architecture of Barcelona.

“The demand for Central and South American destinations echoes a wider trend in visiting unique and wild locations like Ushuaia and the opportunity to experience exuberant cultures like those of Buenos Aires and Santiago. The level of anticipation and excitement we are seeing from past ocean guests tells us we’ve hit on the perfect Central and South American itineraries that tap into what travellers want right now,” said Michelle Black, Managing Director Viking Australia and New Zealand.
