Viking Orion was recently home to a group of 476 Australian and New Zealand guests – representing more than half the ship’s guest capacity – as the 930-guest ship sailed the 23-day North Pacific Passage between Vancouver and Tokyo via Alaska and Russia.

“This is the greatest number of Australians and New Zealanders we have ever hosted on a single Viking cruise, and is testament to the appeal of our style of cruising and our incredibly unique itineraries,” said Michelle Black, Viking’s Managing Director ANZ.

“Viking’s North Pacific Passage is a truly unique cruise itinerary, taking guests from Canada to Japan via Alaska and Russia, all the while offering a comprehensive Viking enrichment program that allows our guests to immerse themselves in these incredible destinations,” she concluded.

Onboard Viking Orion, the Australian and New Zealand guests enjoyed a warm welcome from the ship’s crew, who hosted a special cocktail party for the contingent plus ensured the galleys were stocked up on staples such as Vegemite.

Known as ‘The Thinking Person’s Cruise’, Viking is destination focused, culturally enriching and carefully curated. Itineraries are developed with curious, experienced travellers in mind. Once onboard, every detail of Viking’s ships is designed to enhance and enrich the travel experience, so that guests can deeply understand and connect to the destinations they visit.

As part of the ‘Think Viking Fly & Cruise Sale’, the 28 April 2021 departure of the North Pacific Passage is priced from $11,995 per person, twin share in a Veranda Stateroom, including free return flights for one traveller and flights from just $1,495 for the second when booked before 30 November 2019*.
