Virgin Voyages President and CEO Tom McAlpin and The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection Managing Director Douglas Prothero will join CBS News Travel Editor and PBS’s “The Travel Detective” Peter Greenberg as moderator for a special panel called Innovation, Disruption and Setting the Course for the Future, which will immediately follow the State of the Global Cruise Industry.

“There are so many exciting industry storylines for 2018 and the entire hospitality world is eager to learn more from Virgin Voyages and The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection,” shares moderator Peter Greenberg. “These two esteemed brands are about to be disruptors at sea and I look forward to having Tom McAlpin and Douglas Prothero on stage to share their insights into the future of cruising.”

As previously announced, Peter Greenberg will moderate the State of the Global Cruise Industry sponsored by the Hong Kong Tourist Board from 9:30 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. on Tuesday 6 March 2018. Setting the course of the cruise industry’s premier annual event, the panel will commence with four key executives from the world’s leading cruise lines including: Frank Del Rio, President & CEO, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd; Arnold Donald, President & CEO, Carnival Corporation; Richard Fain, Chairman & CEO, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd; Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman, MSC Cruises.

“Seatrade Cruise Global continues to be the epicenter of the cruise business where leaders in the industry come together to both share and exchange ideas,” describes Chiara Giorgi, Brand Director for Seatrade Cruise Global. “The newly added panel Innovation, Disruption and Setting the Course for the Future, will set the tone for our most comprehensive program to date.”

Highlights of the 2018 program include an Innovation Case Study series in the new Cruising Innovations Theater, regional spotlights and the second annual Seatrade Cruise Global Safety and Security Symposium.  Over 25 panels are scheduled over four days delivering the most wide-ranging program to date.

The complete conference schedule can be found at Seatrade Cruise Global’s website.  The website includes sections on registration details and deadlines for attendees, exhibitor and media resources, as well as travel information and a contact section for UBM, owner of the Seatrade Cruise Portfolio.
