Having secured the presence of Australian music industry heavyweight, Guy Sebastian for the ‘People, Purpose Passion’ themed 20th anniversary national conference taking place next February, MTA – Mobile Travel Agents has now confirmed the head of the world’s foremost luxury travel organisation, Virtuoso CEO, Matthew Upchurch will also join the event.

Mr Upchurch, a long-standing associate of MTA co-managing directors Karen and Roy Merricks, will deliver a keynote address to the 420-plus delegates attending the conference taking place at the InterContinental Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast from 28 February – 01 March 2020.

Announcing the news, MTA co-managing directors Karen and Roy Merricks said they were delighted the Virtuoso CEO had accepted their invitation to attend.

“Matthew Upchurch is an incredibly busy man and for him to take time out of what basically represents a 12-month schedule is testament to the relationship MTA enjoys both with him and his organisation,” the Merricks said.

The ‘People, Purpose Passion’ conference is already shaping up to be the biggest in the company two-decade long history, delegate registrations already eclipsing previous records set at MTA conferences  in Canberra, Melbourne and the company’s spiritual home on the Gold Coast.

Celebratory events aside, business sessions across the three-day event also include a series of head office updates while an anticipated more than 70 suppliers will meet with MTA Advisors as part of a ‘Supplier EXPO’ event, now a standard fixture at all MTA national conferences in recent years.

On the lighter side of the agenda, optional Yoga and running sessions and a conference opening night ‘Welcome Beach Party’ have also been slotted in to the conference’s fast-paced menu.

The ‘People, Purpose Passion’ event will culminate with an aptly named ‘Roaring 20’s’ Gala Dinner taking place at Warner Bros. Movie World on 29 February, a feature of which will be a performance by Guy Sebastian.
