Celebrity-loved Vive Cake Boutique entices sweethearts in the city with a charming and romantic Valentine’s Day pâtisserie collection and an irresistible afternoon tea experience. From 28 January to 28 February, romantics in the city are invited to celebrate Saint Valentine’s Day of love and appreciation at Vive Cake Boutiques and at home.

Valentine’s Day calls for a romantic day for lovers to create lasting memories of love. What makes a memory lasting and sweet is a delectable and eye-catching cake to share with the special somebody in life. Known for her imaginative, whimsical and decadent creations, founder Ms Vivien Lau has created a trilogy cakes that captures the essence of romance and love.

The collection commences with All You Knit is Love (HK$600 for 1lb; HK$1,180 for 2 lbs), a stunning pastel-coloured cake reminiscent of a heart-shaped bouquet of flowers. The spectrum of pink and purple buttercream on the cake belies the surprising chocolate sponge flavour and chocolate mousse with raspberry underneath.

Violet Penelope (HK$460 for 0.5 lb; HK$640 for 1 lb) is a simple yet beautifully decorated vanilla sponge cake draped in purple cream comprising of rose, lychee, and raspberry mousse. The colour purple is chosen by Vivien for what is signifies and represents: “I will trust and love you for a long time.” Atop the cake stands a solo decorating sculpture of a diamond to further enhance the message of everlasting love.

A mini cake titled, Lover’s Gift (HK$58) is an ideal present to bring home to loved ones as a surprise. This heart-shaped single serving treat with a neat bow on top, is made with strawberry and passion fruit mousse and dacquois, promises love at first bite.

Fans of VIVE who wish to embark on a romantic culinary journey with their loved ones may also visit the boutique to indulge in a Valentine’s Day Afternoon Tea experience. Loved ones are charmed with a blend of savory and sweet delights, highlights of which include Mozzarella & Tomato Bruschetta and Smoked Ham & Cheese Puff Pastry Cups; followed by Double Chocolate Mini Cupcake, Cheesecake with Raspberry, Raspberry Macaron, Strawberry Mousse cake, Rose Flavoured Cookies and the afternoon tea classic, Raisin Scones with Clotted Cream & Strawberry Jam. A selection of specialty coffee and tea are served to complement the tea set, immaculately presented in a three tiered tea tray. Available from 31 January to 28 February, the VIVE Valentine’s Day Afternoon Tea experience is priced at HK$218 for one/ HK$378 for two (prices are subject to 10% service charge).

Vive Cake Boutique has proved a roaring success story since being launched with online orders in 2014 by founder and creative director Vivien Lau, who discovered her passion and talent by chance, making her first cake for a friend’s birthday. Her signature ‘handmade with love’ cakes, cupcakes, macarons, cookies, confectioneries and tailor-made cakes for weddings and special occasions, are all made from scratch from finest ingredients sourced from all over the world.
