Celebrity-loved Vive Cake Boutique launches the “O’ Heavenly” collection of airy chiffon cakes to welcome summer from 8 June 2020, along with a specially designed sweet treat for Father’s Day. Spotlighting the light, fluffy texture and healthier ingredients used in chiffon cakes, VIVE’s “O’ Heavenly” collection embraces fresh fruit ingredients and refreshing yet natural flavours to invoke the sensation of all things summer.

“VIVE’s buttercream cake collection has brought an immense amount of joy to dessert lovers in the city since opening in 2015; we want to create a delightful new range that is quintessentially ‘VIVE’ this Summer,” shares Ms Vivien Lau, Founder of Vive Cake Boutique. “After many tried and tested recipes, my team and I are delighted to present our new chiffon cake range, which is true to what VIVE fans know and love, but with a lighter, fluffier texture perfect for the summer season.”

Known for their Insta-worthy creations and signature buttercream cakes loved by fans of all ages, VIVE’s brand new collection of chiffon cakes redefines and refines the traditional chiffon cake with elegance, by leavening meringue to create its fluffy cake base. The duality of the chiffon cake’s fluffy texture and the softly-whipped cream coat, mixed with a unique crunchy texture of meringue or fresh fruits perfectly placed in each cake’s hollow centre ensures that each bite is a surprise.

Founder Vivien Lau’s personal favourite of the collection, Be Zesty, is an aesthetically romantic cake, that gives a zesty, unexpected burst of flavour which each bite.  Made with Japanese yuzu custard and almond meringues on the inside, the cake is covered with mascarpone cream, lending it the much loved flavours of VIVE.  Adorned with sliced lemons along the base and top of the cake, while lemon macarons add a tangy taste, that is sure to impress all who set eyes on the cake.  Available in three sizes, priced at HK$550 for 4”, HK$750 for 6” and HK$950 for 7”.

The Madame Grey chiffon cake celebrates VIVE’s signature Earl Grey flavour, paired with the light and refreshing texture of chiffon. The fluffy, triple-layered cake sits on a crunchy base made from white chocolate and is coated with delectable earl grey mascarpone cream made from premium earl grey leaves.  Fresh figs sit atop the cake, evoking a ‘summer in the countryside’ aesthetic while creating a complexity of textures.  Madame Grey is available in three sizes, ranging from HK$520 for 4”, HK$720 for 6” to HK$920 for 7”.

Rounding out VIVE’s chiffon collection of cakes is Berry-licious, a precious rose coloured cake.  Underneath the strawberry flavoured mascarpone cream, is a vanilla chiffon cake made with premium Madagascar vanilla seeds, layered with goodies from fresh, homemade strawberry jam to raspberries meringue. Fresh strawberries are sprinkled on top of the cake, framing a beautiful decorative mini-rose.  Berry-licious is available in three sizes, from 4” (HK$580), 6” (HK$780), to 7” (HK$980).

To celebrate Father’s Day this June, VIVE creates World’s Greatest Dad, a chocolate chiffon cake made with premium Swiss coco known for its distinct and creamy taste. The chocolate is balanced with banana, providing a burst of sweet freshness. Available until 30 June, the World’s Greatest Dad cake is priced at HK$580, 1lb.

Vive Cake Boutique has proved a roaring success story since being launched with online orders in 2014 by founder and creative director Vivien Lau, who discovered her passion and talent by chance, making her first cake for a friend’s birthday.
