Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund is pleased to announce that Mr. Florian Hölmer has been appointed as the hotel’s Executive Assistant Manager – Food & Beverage as of May 25, 2020. He will be responsible for the overall development of food and beverage and culinary operations.

German-born Florian brings over 23 years of F&B experience which he gained in Europe, US and China at luxury hotels with prominent and successful food and beverage establishments. Florian has built upon a solid foundation of skills in the field of food & beverage from his professional expertise in both kitchen and managerial positions.

After spending more than 15 years with Hyatt Group and delivering outstanding performance with his previous posts at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, Florian was the director of food and beverage at the Rosewood Beijing before taking this position at Waldorf.

Florian believes that food should bring the ultimate joy to customers, especially now culinary experience plays an even more important role for customers and hotel business.  In his philosophy, food is about respecting the origin and authenticity of the ingredients and products.

“It is my great honor to join Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund, the first Waldorf hotel in the China,” said Florian. “Each individual has the understanding of their own to luxury. It is my utmost goal to lead the F&B team towards another success of culinary excellence for Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund – being innovative and always pursuing perfection to deliver unforgettable dining experience for our guests.”

Outside of work, Florian enjoys cooking and plays golf.
