WASHINGTON CAPITALS
Re-Live A Great Moment

For Capitals fans, this nine-minute condensed game is the holy grail of hockey highlights. The Caps clinched their first Stanley Cup with this comeback victory in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final against the upstart Vegas Golden Knights. Lars Eller’s Cup-clinching goal can be found at 6:26 of the video.

There’s a virtual way to get your hockey fix. NBC Sports Washington will begin live-streaming one-hour EA Sports NHL 20 simulations of the remaining games on the Capitals schedule on March 24 at 7 p.m. with a matchup against the St. Louis Blues. These simulations will feature commentary from NBC Sports Washington announcers.

WASHINGTON NATIONALS

Re-Live A Great Moment

Although this World Series Game 7 took place less than seven months ago, it’s worth re-watching for an eternity. The Nationals trailed 2-1 heading into the top of the 7th inning before staging an epic comeback, one of many during their postseason run. Once Daniel Hudson struck out the Houston Astros’ Michael Brantley to end the game, the Nationals had clinched their first World Series title in franchise history and the first delivered by a DC baseball team since 1924. We highly recommend watching the highlights of dramatic Nationals’ wins in the National League Wild Card Game and Game 5 of the National League Division Series as well.

Make sure you’re following the Nationals’ Twitter for updates, and be on the lookout for special treats like coloring books and wallpapers. Also note that 106.7 The Fan is broadcasting each win from the Nationals’ playoff run in chronological order at 6:30 p.m. each night. Kick back and re-live incredible moments, narrated by the excellent broadcast team of Charlie Slowes and Dave Jageler.

WASHINGTON MYSTICS

Re-Live A Great Moment

This one is fairly obvious. The Mystics won their first WNBA title by defeating the Connecticut Sun in a winner-take-all Game 5 at Entertainment and Sports Arena in DC. Stars Elena Delle Donne and Emma Meesseman combined for 43 points in the 89-78 victory that set off a raucous celebration.

Note that at this time, there have been no changes to the WNBA schedule, but we advise staying tuned to the social media accounts linked above. As you wait for word on the season, divvy out some fun brain exercises for the kiddos or check out Monumental Sports’ Women’s History Month content.

WASHINGTON WIZARDS

Re-Live A Great Moment

It’s Game 6 of the 2017 Eastern Conference Semifinals. The Wizards’ backs are against the wall against the Boston Celtics, as the good guys trail the series three games to two. The Celtics wear all-black to the game, indicating their confidence that they will end the Wizards’ season. John Wall says: Not so fast. In the process, he creates the best Wizards moment of the decade. Watch the video until the end, we promise it’s worth it.

Remember those Capitals’ simulations mentioned above? NBC Sports Washington is doing the same for the rest of the Wizards’ schedule with NBA 2K20, starting with Wizards vs. Bucks on March 21. You can also read up on how the Wizards players are spending their time and listen to classic Wizards playoff wins on WizardsRadio247.

D.C. UNITED

Re-Live A Great Moment

Although Wayne Rooney’s stint with D.C. United has ended, there’s nothing wrong with remembering possibly his finest moment with the club. In stoppage time of a 2-2 match against Orlando City on Aug. 12, 2018, D.C. United had pulled its goalie for a corner kick. The strategy nearly backfired, but Rooney was there to save the day with a defensive stop and an incredible pass to teammate Luciano Acosta for the dramatic, game-winning goal. The play revived United’s season and Rooney eventually led the team to a berth in the MLS Cup Playoffs.

With the MLS season postponed until at least May 10, D.C. United is working hard to stay connected with fans via social media. On Twitter, the team hosted a jersey tournament and shared wallpapers, podcasts and messages/videos from players. Over on Instagram, you can journey down memory lane. Stay tuned for more.

DC DEFENDERS

Re-Live A Great Moment

The XFL’s first game was the DC Defenders’ first game and luckily for the home crowd at Audi Field, the team’s first win. The Defenders crushed the Seattle Dragons, 31-19, led by quarterback Cardale Jones and his 291 passing yards

Follow the Defenders and stay tuned for news regarding the XFL, which has canceled the rest of its games for this season, but plans to return in 2021.
