Greetings from the Heart of Saigon!

Throughout history the Caravelle has been through many difficult situations with its recent challenge being the COVID-19 epidemic. The Caravelle has stood tall throughout all these challenges over the years and will continue to do so through today. While I won’t lie, occupancy levels in the hotel have dropped considerably including the temporary closure of our food and beverage outlets and spa as per the directive of local authorities, one of many measures to stop the spread of the virus. We all know this will only be temporary so the hotels doors still remain open throughout this period and more importantly our staff remain employed, it is just a little quieter than usual here at the Caravelle.

While we could sit here and dwell on the situation, it is in my opinion to stand strong and take care of our guests and employees as best as possible through this challenging time, and that is why we have started the WE campaign. For those of you living in Ho Chi Minh City you may have noticed over the past few days our opera wing lit with the word WE. We conveys more unity and intimacy than any other pronouns in English and that is why WE has been used as the first word in our coronavirus recovery strategy.

WE CARE, is what we have made the foremost strategy in devising all our policies and procedures during this time of significant business interruption. We understand that our staff members have family’s to feed and therefore have devised strategy’s to ensure they are all kept employed and receiving income over this period. WE CARE has also involved the safety of our guests and employees by the Caravelle being the first hotel in the city to establish compulsory temperature checks for anyone entering the building.

WE PROVIDE has been established to prepare gourmet sandwiches or family size meals that can be pre ordered for pick up, perfectly designed by our talented chefs to cater up to 4 people. Some my favorite items include the Duck Ragu lasagna or Roast leg of Lamb with delectable sides. A great way to add some excitement to your social distancing by arranging a gourmet meal for dinner.
