Well Hotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 20 hosted a familiarization trip led by Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Rome office in partnership with Air Italy. The members of the FAM trip consisting of Italian journalists, bloggers, TAT Rome officer and a representative from Air Italy flew to Thailand on 9 August 2018 with the inaugural flight from Milan to Bangkok.

“Our TAT Rome office has been working hard to promote Thailand and the unique experiences travelers could gain while visiting the country. The opening of the new direct flights from Milan to Bangkok will help bring Italian tourists to Thailand easier than before, along with the airline domestic networks to other major cities in Italy such as Rome, Naples, Lamezia Terme, Palermo and Catania. During the FAM trip, our group had visited many hidden gems in and around Bangkok including the Rom Hub market, Talad Plu, Wat Pho, famous dining spots from the Michelin Guide, cooking class, a rooftop bar, a night market and on our last day we attended the Thai herbal cocktail workshop and healthy lunch hosted by our host hotel. That was such a good experience,” said Mario Degl’Innocenti, TAT Rome marketing officer.

“We are glad that we could once again work with TAT Rome in hosting this FAM trip as Italy is our number one long-haul market and it is among the top six nationalities for this property (Well Hotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 20), which the first five countries are from Asia. We have been working closely with TAT, DMCs as well as media, bloggers, and influencers to push our presence to this market. The direct flight from Milan to Bangkok will shorten the travel time and I am sure will help boost the number of Italian tourists to Thailand,” commented Supa-arpha Itthikaiwan, Well Hotels & Resorts – Director, Brand & Marketing Communications.

The group spent five days from 10 to 15 September 2018 in Thailand’s capital exploring top tourist attractions, gaining new skills and local experience as well as attending a press conference and gala dinner of Air Italy inaugural flight to Thailand held in Bangkok.
