Bakehouse Steakhouse to donate 100% of sales on Aussie day to bush fire victims

On Australia Day, January 26 the owners of Bakehouse Steakhouse will donate 100% of sales during Australia Day lunch to charity supporting bush fire victims. Nick Stevenson said his brother Alistair lost everything in the floods and the family wanted to give back in this time of fire crisis.  All sales from food and drink from 11.30am – 2.30pm on January 26 will be donated to charity.  Bakehouse Steakhouse will also be raising money through a raffle which includes sports memorabilia as prizes, tickets to go on sale next week and drawn on Australia Day.  Suppliers Lion Beer and Stanbroke will be donating product to support the day.

Sip and Paint Fundraising event

The Coffee Club at Orion Springfield Central are helping to raise money for bushfire affected animals.

“The fires have been devastating. Our Mother Nature has lost hundreds of thousands of wildlife in the last few months. We have partnered with Sip and Dip to fundraise for ARC. Cost is $50 per person includes a High Tea and all material for painting. $10 from each booking will be donated. All donations collected will be disclosed on our page. Let’s stand together as Australians to help our Wildlife.”

The fundraising event will be held on Sunday January 26 from 3pm-6pm.

4 Hearts Brewing donates money to bushfire relief

Over January 17, 18 and 19 The Pumpyard Bar and Dovetails Restaurant will raise money for bush fire victims.

At the Pumpyard $1 from every chicken parma or pizza sold will be donated over the period.

While at Dovetails $1 for every cooked breakfast or large takeaway coffee sold will be donated.

Both restaurants are also collecting cash donations in store.

Friday Night Lights and Bites

On January 10 Willowbank Raceway will be gearing up for a night of racing and hot cars with Friday Night Lights and Bites from 6pm-9pm.

There’s some fun stuff for the kids including free face painting, live music and a jumping castle.

Plus you have the chance to race your mate in the dedicated Grudge Lane and park your pride and joy at the car show.  Best light of the night wins $250.  Trophies for coolest hot rod, coolest street car and coolest bike.

Free event for kids under 13, general admission $10, car load of five, $25.  Racing fee $10 per driver.  Event for street registered vehicles only.   The next event will be held on Valentine’s Day, February 14.

Wolfe Brothers

This month the Wolfe Brothers will perform in Ipswich at the Racehorse Hotel.

The country rock band will perform their songs from their new No Sad Song Tour on January 18.  Their current album Country Heart scored the band four Golden Guitars at the Australian Country Music Awards and led to three number one hit singles.

Jimmy Trees and Jade Kelly

Brisbane pop/ punk/ acoustic artist Jimmy Trees will be in Ipswich on January 24 to perform a special show with indie acoustic artist Jade Kelly at Banshees Bar and Art Space.  Jimmy’s style is acoustic pop songs about nature, politics and climate change, while Jade’s style features a lyrical depth and creative melody.

Night Sprints, Drifts and burnouts

At Queensland Raceway this month there are a few events for motorsport fans.  Night Sprints are being held on January 9, then on January 10 Friday Night Drift.  January 16 sees a QR Moto Ride Night take to the track and on January 18 there will be a Madaz Burnout competition.  January 19 Queensland Raceway Hosts Ipswich Open Sprints Round 1, and another Friday night drift will take place on January 24.

BLVD Greater Springfield Amateur BBQ Comp and Family Fun Day.

An inaugural amateur BBQ competition and family fun day will be held at BLVD restaurant at the Springfield Lakes Hotel.

The competition is open to all grill masters and weekend BBQ warriors.  The competition categories include kids burger master, adult burger master, chicken and pork ribs.

On the day there will be a live band playing classic covers from the 70s, 80s and 90s from 1pm-5pm.  BLVD will be serving house-made award winning food and street food. There will also be beer, wine and whiskey tasting.

Free movies by the pool from 6.30pm (tickets needed), kids games and Australia Day fun competitions.

The event is free entry, held on January 26 from 11am-9pm.

Australia Day celebrations at the Racehorse Hotel

The Racehorse Hotel are celebrating Australia Day weekend with music and games.

See the Hoodoo Gurus live on Saturday January 25.

On January 26 Enjoy classic Aussie music all day, a dunk tank, thong tossing, tug ‘o’ war, a lamington eating competition, free pool and meat raffles.

There will also be a kids colouring competition and $5 kids meals on the Aussie inspired menu.

Australia Day family fun day at CSI

Club Services Ipswich will be holding a Family fun day for all, on Australia Day in their carpark. There will be plenty of free activities for the kids including a jumping castle, face painter and a petting zoo. There will also be a pie eating comp, food stalls and two pop-up bars and entertainment from live band Grunt Rock Trio.  Enjoy from 11 am – 4pm.

Australia Day at Brothers Leagues Club

There will be nothing but classic Aussie rock music with Strewth Mate on Saturday January 25 from 8.30pm in the lounge.  And Aussie Idol, Dan England and his band will play from 8.30pm in the sports bar.

On Australia Day Kevin Smith will perform from 2pm in the lounge.
