With an oceanic colour palette alongside a menu infused with the flavours of Executive Sous Chef Daniele Milliani’s Tuscan childhood, Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa brings the best of the Med to the Maldives at its newly renovated Reef Club.

Recalling the familial warmth and laidback vibe of Europe’s southern coast, the new Reef Club blends sea breezes, expansive views and ocean music with local seafood and Italian culinary expertise to create a recipe for a new kind of Maldivian dining: a place to gather with friends and family to enjoy fine al fresco feasting, Mediterranean style, in a gorgeous all-embracing setting.

Four areas invite guests to create their own ambience: a tree-shaded ocean-edge garden with soft sand underfoot; a romantic water’s edge deck under the stars; beneath arches where mosaics and artful Italian furniture imbue the feel of a cosy beachside restaurant; or at stools pulled up at the Reef Club bar, where meticulously crafted cocktails combine Mediterranean aromatics and fragrant tropical flair.

The menu is equally infused with the love and warmth of a culture where coming together to celebrate food is second nature. Inspired by Executive Sous Chef Daniele’s childhood on a farm in Tuscany – where organic methods were tradition not trend – dishes are infused with authentic vibrancy, from his grandmother’s fragrant meatballs to signature classics such as fritto misto, toothfish with couscous, and tiramisu.

“It’s such a thrill to open the doors to the revamped Reef Club,” comments Chef Daniele, who joined the team in September 2019. “Looking out over the ocean and being able to share authentic Italian flavours is pure joy to me. My style blends modern techniques, family recipes and meticulously sourced ingredients to recreate the taste of my childhood memories. Being able to present them in such a surreally beautiful environment only enhances the sensorial experience.”

Whether refuelling after a morning’s poolside lounging with a light bistro lunch, feasting on the finest wood-fired pizza or sipping on craft cocktails at sunset, Reef Club captures the essence of refined wining and dining with a healthy side of la dolce vita.
