Where to travel for healthy getaways in 2019

Wanted to check in now that it’s 2019 and see if you’re working on any short lead stories about healthy travel destinations? Know that resolutions have yet to be broken and that readers are interested in experiential and fit getaways, so wanted to share the below on behalf of Omni Resorts.

  • The Omni Grove Park Inn (Asheville, NC):

o   The Spa: Among the top resort spas in the U.S., the 43,000 sq. ft. subterranean spa offers facials, massages, body treatments and wellness treatment pods. Ranked Best Hotel Spa and 2017 Shape Healthy Travel Award Winner by Shape Magazine.

  • Omni Mount Washington Resort (Bretton Woods, NH):

o   Ski: New Hampshire’s largest ski area is open for its 45th season, offering 464 acres of skiing and snowboarding on 62 trails, 35 glades and 3 terrain parks. There are 10 lifts including 4 high-speed quads and night skiing is offered. Ranked among the Top 25 Best Ski Resorts and Reader’s Choice Awards 2018 by Conde Nast Traveler.

o   Spa: Surrounded by mountain views, the 25,000 sq. ft. spa treatments incorporate the best of local botanicals from cleansing mud wraps to reflexology.

o   F&B: Dine in the Main Dining Room for New England classics or modern culinary delights, which integrates locally and regionally sourced product, meats and seafood. Specialties includes gruyere cheddar fondue and venison stew.

  • The Omni Homestead Resort (Hot Springs, VA):

o   Golf: Ranked 22nd best course in Top 200 Golf Courses by Golfweek, The Cascades Course weaves through the Allegheny Mountains and offers challenging links.

o   F&B: Located near the spa, the Chef’s Garden features organically grown herbs and vegetables, which are used in the resort’s restaurants. The garden is Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) certified and includes 60 edible plants.  Restaurants on property including Jefferson’s and The Dining Room have vegan menus, offering dishes such as delicious cauliflower steak and butternut ravioli.

o   The Spa: The expansive, state-of-the art facilities on property includes an Aqua Thermal Suite, year-round Spa Garden and monthly specials.
