On Friday evening, Insight Vacations and Luxury Gold, global leaders in premium and luxury escorted journeys, took guests on a journey at Telstra’s Customer Insight Centre to officially launch their inaugural Insight Vacations Inner Circle Awards Night.

Aptly named, Inner Circle, top selling travel agents nationwide were flown in specially for the night and were greeted to Aperol Spritz and canapes as an acoustic guitarist crooned local and international hits.

Alex O’Connor, Managing Director of Insight Vacations and Luxury Gold, welcomed agents in The Ring, an impressive 360 display screen. She said on the night, “We’re delighted to take you on a journey with us tonight and it’s certainly no coincidence we’ve selected an event space appropriately called the Customer Insight Centre!  We’ve aligned with an exceptional venue as we believe its cutting-edge technology demonstrates our commitment to innovation. You, our travel agent partners, are the beating heart of Insight Vacations, you are part of our family and of course, our Inner Circle.”

Inside the Theatrette, special guest Ulla Hefel Böhler, CEO of Insight Vacations, was present from her hometown of Zurich, and gave a TEDx style presentation with an incredible 7.5×7.5 metre screen behind her. She provided guests with an insight into what’s setting the brand apart from the rest – innovation, consistency and continuous improvement. She also spoke to what’s new for 2020 such as the introduction of Insight Choice, the return of the Ancient Civilisations collection following high demand and the brand’s continuous involvement in sustainability initiatives such as the local One Tree Planted partnership in Tasmania.

With several interstate and national awards, the night celebrated 18 consultants and agencies from around the country – recognising their talent and hard work. Tom Steinfort, co-host of Channel Nine’s The Today Show, hosted the official award proceedings and had guests on the edge of their seats with his quick-wit and enthusiasm for the travel industry.

Insight Vacations also revealed some homegrown talent, with Victorian Sales Manager, Andrew Perry providing the intermission entertainment with his own rendition of “The Art of Travelling in Style”, inspired by his time with the global Insight team in Belfast in August. Andrew had guests singing along by the end of the song and received a standing ovation for his performance.

Guests were then treated to an Insight Flourish, a delicious Bellini, before entering the restaurant, The Dish, where guests were served farm-to-table shared platters. The food that remained was then donated to not-for-profit organisation, OzHarvest, the food rescue charity group.

Band, Muma Megs had guests on their feet dancing the night away, while a lavish dessert station satisfied sweet cravings with mini lemon tarts, pavlovas and chocolate tarts while large rolls of various cheese, grapes and crackers pleased those savoury cravings.
