Tourism Ireland is delighted to announce their collaboration with Channel Nine’s The Garden Gurus to publicise the annual Bloom Festival which takes place in the Phoenix Park, Dublin. Presenter Trevor Cochrane and the Garden Gurus team travelled to Ireland in May to film Ireland’s hugely popular world class garden festival. The 30 minute Ireland special will air on Saturday 18th August at 4.30 pm on Channel 9.
The Bloom Festival showcases the best from Ireland’s horticulture and food industry. Organised by Ireland’s national food board – Bord Bia, the annual festival takes place over five days. The 2019 festival will take place from the 30th May – 3rd June.

“We are delighted that The Garden Gurus chose to come and film Ireland’s premier garden festival – It is a superb way to highlight Ireland to more than 1.16 million Australians, positioning Ireland as a highly desirable place to visit,” said Sofia Hansson, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Australia & New Zealand. “Publicity is an important element of our overall promotional programme, helping to raise awareness through the Australian media of the many things to see and do on a holiday around the island of Ireland.”

Garden Gurus presenter Trevor Cochrane commented, “It was our seventh visit to Ireland in the past decade and again the weather was magnificent. This year’s Bloom garden show was the best I’ve seen and I rank it in the top three garden shows in the world currently. The designer gardens were outstanding.”

In 2017, Tourism Ireland welcomed around 208,000 visitors from Australia and New Zealand. Tourism Ireland has an extensive programme of promotions under way again this year, to continue to grow that number.
