Norwegian Cruise Line is the first major cruise line to run a TV commercial spot during the CBS Sports telecast of Super Bowl LIII – airing yesterday Australian time – with a localised version of the advert to air in Australia from Friday 8 February, 2019.

The new 30-second advertisement ran during one of the most watched games in the world, showcasing the variety of entertaining and thrilling experiences available across Norwegian’s 16-strong fleet. The advert features multi-platinum selling pop artist Andy Grammer’s re-recording of “Good to Be Alive (Hallelujah)” – “Good to Be Free.”

The Super Bowl advertisement forms part of Norwegian’s larger international TVC initiative, with the line launching its first ever Australian and New Zealand television advertising campaign last year. A localised version of the Super Bowl advertisement will air in the Australian market from this week.

The local TVCs are part of Norwegian’s largest campaign investment to date, with the first Australian TVC premiering in Sydney in September 2018. Extended following its success, the original TVC is currently airing in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Both of the 30 and 15-second adverts will be featured on rotation across several free to air channels including Seven, Nine and SBS. The commercials showcase Norwegian’s ‘Feel Free’ ethos featuring the largest racetrack at sea, award-winning entertainment, The Haven by Norwegian®, global dining and beverage options.

In addition, the local television commercials showcase Norwegian’s strong product offering worldwide by highlighting Hawaii, Alaska, Europe, Australia and New Zealand as key destinations for the cruise line.

Norwegian Cruise Line’s TVCs are part of a broader campaign aimed at Australian travellers. Norwegian will be employing radio, outdoor, press and digital advertisements throughout February and March.
