Chih-Wen Twu, chairman of the Taiwan Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and secretary-general of the International Federation of Facial Plastic Surgery Societies served as congress chairman. He pointed out Taiwan’s dedication to facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and the fact that the presence of so many doctors from a variety of countries affirmed their confidence in Taiwan’s epidemic prevention capabilities.

Chih-Wen Twu mentioned that the World Congress of Facial Plastic Surgery is held every four years. This was the first time it was held in Asia, and they chose Taiwan as the destination. The World Congress was an academic symposium with 96 foreign lecturers. They shared their experiences in facial plastic surgery and introduced cutting-edge facial plastic surgery technology to Taiwan.

Many of the visiting physicians took advantage of the opportunity to visit Taroko National Park in Hualien during the first two days of the preliminary meeting; they viewed the natural scenic splendor without wearing masks and were deeply impressed. They said they would revisit Taiwan in the future.
