The annual RepTrak 2020 survey places Hurtigruten in the top three most trusted companies in Norway.

2020 has seen Hurtigruten climb from fourth spot to number three, a reflection of the company’s high standing.

This means Hurtigruten is back in top three, where the expedition cruise line has been placed for five years straight.

“This result is solid proof that we are widely acknowledged as a trustworthy company with an excellent reputation,” says Damian Perry, Managing Director Hurtigruten Asia-Pacific.

Hurtigruten’s trustworthy reputation extends well beyond Norway with a successful repatriation from Hurtigruten ships of all its guests last month, including many Australians.

The company has not had any suspected or confirmed cases of coronavirus on any ships and has introduced supportive and flexible rebooking policies for all its guests.

“We know our guests love to sail with us on expeditions to some of the world’s most remote and pristine wilderness areas. They trust us to give them extraordinary experiences, while caring for them, the communities we visit and the nature and marine destinations we sail to,” says Perry.

Hurtigruten continues to offer a baseline operation on the Norwegian coast as part of the Norwegian Transport infrastructure, a service it has performed for more than 127 years. All these elements contribute to the fundamentals of a strong and trustworthy business in the current climate.

Companies with a score over 80 in the RepTrack Survey are considered to have an “excellent reputation”. This year Hurtigruten received a score of 85.6 (just a whisker behind IKEA and Norwegian dairy company Tine, both on 85.7). This makes Hurtigruten by far the highest ranked travel company in the survey – which is has been since it was included in the survey in 2016.

“The best [companies] have had an outstanding reputation for several years. They are good at listening and adapting to society’s expectations,” says Ole Christian Apeland, CEO of the Apeland agency, who is responsible for the Norwegian part of the renowned international RepTrak survey on behalf of The RepTrak Company.
