Most States and Territories have this afternoon introduced either travel bans or quarantine requirements for travellers from Greater Sydney, Central Coast, Illawarra-Shoalhaven and Nepean Blue Mountains. This is in response to the current Northern Beaches cluster. Medical advice has recommended that we should follow this response.

I have accepted this advice and from midnight tonight (December 20, 2020) people from Greater Sydney, Central Coast, Illawarra-Shoalhaven and Nepean Blue Mountains areas of NSW should not travel to the island. If they do come to the island, they will be required to undertake 14 days quarantine at home or if not suitable in rental accommodation at their own cost.

Returning residents and essential workers will be required to quarantine along with any other members of the household. The requirements around the current Northern Beaches LGA also remain in place.

EMT will continue to monitor the situation and hopefully remove this requirement as soon as possible.
